Grace in Golden Light: A Manjushri Pendant for Peace and Strength
His name is Ravi Mehra, an Indian-American mechanic who has run his small repair shop in New Jersey for over 30 years.
He came to us humbly, his hands rough with work and time.
“These days, I feel my body slowing down,” he said. “Aches, fatigue… it’s just age, I suppose. But I want something to protect me—something spiritual, something I can wear.”
We listened to his words and chose a piece of rare golden jadeite—its rich yellow hue glowing gently along the edge of the stone like sunlight on a quiet morning. The warm color, or “qiao se”, was naturally concentrated at the periphery, giving the piece an elegant contrast—light in body, gold in spirit.
Inspired by both the energy of the stone and Mr. Mehra’s quiet dignity, we carved a Manjushri Bodhisattva, the embodiment of wisdom, clarity, and inner power.
In Eastern tradition, Manjushri is also the guardian deity of those born in the Year of the Rabbit, offering insight and protection.
This particular carving is bold and generous in proportion—a thick, dignified pendant with strong presence. Manjushri’s face is sculpted with calm nobility, every detail—robe, hand gesture, gaze—rendered with precision and reverence.
By his side, we carved his celestial mount: a majestic blue lion, symbol of fearless intellect. The lion rests but remains alert, representing the perfect balance between peace and strength.
When Mr. Mehra received the pendant, he placed it around his neck silently, then smiled:
“It feels like… sunlight I can carry with me.”
May this guardian watch over him—bringing peace, resilience, and a golden thread of joy through the days ahead.
At TATHATĀ, we believe every story deserves to be honored in gem stone. If you’re seeking protection, peace, or simply a sign to keep going—
