Root Chakra | Stability and Survival

The Root Chakra (Muladhara) is the foundation of the chakra system. Located at the base of the spine, it governs our sense of safety, survival, and belonging. When balanced, we feel grounded, steady, and supported — fully present in the body and in the world. When imbalanced, fear, anxiety, and disconnection often arise.

In many energy traditions, the Root Chakra is where we carry ancestral trauma, early childhood insecurity, and our relationship to the physical realm — including money, health, and home.

Jadeite for Root Chakra Healing

To support the Root Chakra, we look for jadeite that resonates with the Earth’s density, warmth, and protective strength.

Recommended jadeite types:

  • Red jade (hong fei 红翡) – vibrant, grounding, energizing
  • Black jade (乌鸡 jade) – dense, protective, deeply stabilizing
  • Dark brown or deep green-black varieties – earthy tones with anchoring frequencies

These stones are particularly helpful for:

  • Those dealing with fear, insecurity, or survival anxiety
  • People healing from rootless childhoods or unstable environments
  • Anyone seeking to reconnect with their body, sexuality, or boundaries

Physical & Emotional Connection

According to both Eastern and Western healing systems, the Root Chakra governs:

  • The legs, feet, bones, and spine
  • The reproductive system and excretory organs
  • Our ability to stand up for ourselves, set boundaries, and create material security

Wearing red or black jade close to the hips or wrists can remind the body: You are safe. You are supported. You belong here.

Grounding Ritual

At the end of your day, sit or lie down. Place a piece of black or red jade near your lower spine or root chakra area. Visualize your body growing roots deep into the Earth. Let the stone absorb the noise, fear, and fatigue — and offer back quiet, ancient strength.
